Mehwish Hayat is first Pakistani Actress to stand with International #Timesup Campaign


The multifaceted actress Mehwish Hayat wears black to show solidarity with a slew of international celebrities in support of #TimesUp campaign against women harassment in the entertainment business and work place.

Hayat recently posted a picture on Twitter while giving out a clear message that harassment of women at any place is unacceptable.
“TODAY, I WEAR BLACK IN SOLIDARITY WITH MY INDUSTRY COLLEAGUES IN THE US AND PUSH THIS MESSAGE TO THE WOMEN OF MY OWN HOMELAND, PAKISTAN. WE ARE NO LESS THAN MEN BY VIRTUE OF OUR GENDER. HARASSMENT OF ANY FORM IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE AND WE WILL NOT TOLERATE IT #WHYIWEARBLACK #TIMEISUP,” MEHWISH WROTE.
While Mehwish Hayat is the first Pakistani actress to join this campaign, but on the international a plethora of actress have already showed their support for the cause including Ashley Judd, Eva Longoria, America Ferrera, Rashida Jones, Kerry Washington, Reese Witherspoon and Ema Watson.
